Press more into every day.
Japanese-style coffee and panini pressed hot to order. Good enough for a Saturday, priced for a Tuesday.
Go on, press it.
押す osu, to press
A name that does the work.
In Japanese, osu means to press. It is what the barista does to the espresso, what the grill does to the panini, and what a hanko does to paper when someone puts their name to something.
Add mo, more, and you have Oshimo. More care pressed into the ordinary things: the first coffee of the morning, the lunch you eat at your desk, the half hour you steal for yourself.
We kept the floor.
Before us, this unit on Seri Gembira Avenue was a kopitiam. Its Peranakan tiles were too good to cover, so they stayed.
Around them: a midnight navy wall, the red seal, light oak tables, a noren at the back. Part Kuala Lumpur shophouse, part Tokyo side street. A place you can walk into in office clothes or running kit.
Come find us.
Ground floor, Seri Gembira Avenue. Look for the red seal over the glass door.
